Electrical Engineer — Power System Studies
About the Role
Eradeh Power Consulting is seeking experienced Power System Studies engineers to join our growing studies practice. You will own complex electromagnetic transient (EMT) and steady-state analyses that underpin the reliability of the infrastructure our clients depend on — from AI data centers to advanced generation. This is a high-impact role for an engineer who wants deep technical work on the most demanding interconnection and stability problems in the industry, working alongside a vendor-neutral team recognized by the Texas Nuclear Alliance and IDCA.
What You'll Do
- Develop and validate PSCAD/EMTP models for grid-forming and grid-following inverter-based resources, synchronous machines, and hybrid plants.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, dynamic stability, and protection coordination studies to interconnection and reliability standards.
- Model machine dynamics including exciters, governors, and power system stabilizers (PSS), and interpret results using symmetrical-component fundamentals.
- Author clear, defensible study reports and interface directly with clients, utilities, and interconnection authorities.
- Support the full project lifecycle from feasibility through commissioning, translating study findings into actionable engineering recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- BSEE with a power systems concentration.
- 5–8 years of hands-on power system studies experience.
- Proficiency with PSCAD or a comparable EMT simulation platform.
- Demonstrated capability across load flow, short circuit, dynamic stability, and protection coordination.
- Strong fundamentals in symmetrical components and machine dynamics (exciters, governors, PSS).
- Working knowledge of grid-forming and grid-following inverter controls.
Nice to Have
- PhD in Power Systems or a closely related field.
- Experience with inverter-based resource (IBR) interconnection studies.
- Familiarity with data center and behind-the-meter (BTM) generation topologies.
